This property returns the sparse matrix $\mathbf{P}$ that carries out the weighting mapping via matrix-vector product, i.e.:

$$\mathbf{u}(\mathbf{m})=\mathbf{Pm}\text{where}\mathbf{P}=diag(\mathbf{w})$$
