Whether the factorization for each unique time step is stored.
If True, the factorizations of the system matrix (and its transpose) are kept between calls to fields, Jvec, and Jtvec. This can significantly speed up the sensitivity operations in an inversion, at the cost of increased memory usage. The stored factors are released the next time fields is called, or when this property is set to False.
